The popular British time travel TV show "Doctor Who" will permanently be taken off of Netflix on Feb. 1.

According to Cinema Blend, both the old school and rebooted "Dr. Who" series will be taken down. However, "The Science of Doctor Who" documentary will still be watchable at the streaming site.

There have been rumors in the past about the series being taken down at Netflix, however, they were debunked during that time. However, this time the official announcement came from Netflix.

According to the website, all 18 seasons of the original series will be removed. It features the first seven incarnations of Doctor and their respective companions. CB points out that taking it down would prove to be frustrating to beginning fans of the series as it can be difficult to find them online again or in physical copies. All 8 seasons of the rebooted series starting 2005 will be removed as well. It features Doctors Nine, Ten, Eleven and the beginnings of Twelve.

However, the series might not face the axe as only a renewal contract is needed to let them stay online. What's On Netflix explains that it might get renewed, however, a highly awaited confirmation may be reported soon. This isn't the first time that the series faced expiration as it happened in 2015 and 2014.

In other news, it is rumored that the 12th Doctor actor, Peter Capaldi will leave "Doctor Who" together with ex-showrunner Steven Moffat who handed over the position to Chris Chibnall.

When Steven Moffat took the reins from Russell T. Davies and David Tenant in 2010, he brought in Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor and got him new companions and a TARDIS, does this mean that Chibnall will do the same?

"Bosses are already discussing a fresh start when Steven leaves," a source from BBC told Mirror. "They've been happy with what Peter has brought to the role but some think it might make sense to give Chris his own choice of actor to play the Doctor.

"They hope he will be able to find someone who can have the same impact as Matt Smith did when Steven Moffat kicked off his run as executive producer."

The speculations and rumors will remain as is as no confirmation has been released. What is known for the future of the series is that Capaldi is signed up for the 2017 series but a BBC spokesperson did not share more info beyond the time period.
