Activision has finally released "Awakening," the first DLC pack for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3."

Many "Call of Duty" gamers have been looking forward to the the release date of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" "Awakening" DLC. The wait is not in vain because it has finally arrived.

GottaBeMobile reported that the DLC is scheduled for release on February 2 and it is now live and gamers can play on it already. However, before you get your hands on the DLC take the time to learn about it first.

PlayStation.com reported that the "Awakening" DLC includes four new multipayer maps in addition to an all-new Zombies adventure called "Der Eisendrache."

Unfortunately, the DLC is only available for PS4, gamers using PS3 and other consoles will not be able to access it at the time.

For PS4 players, you can download the DLC starting Feb. 2 for only $14.99. You can also opt for "Black Ops 3 Season Pass" to enjoy all four DLC Map Packs that will be arriving this year, including "Awakening." The season pass offers big savings to gamers who wanted to access all the DLC because it only cost $49.99. It is way much cheaper than buying each DLC individually.

Aside from these details, what can gamers expect from the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Awakening" DLC? Here are some of the things that you will enjoy when you purchased it.

New Playlist

The development team confirmed that there will be a dedicated "Black Ops 3" DLC playlist for the four new "Awakening" maps. David Vonderhaar also confirmed about the playlist but explained that it won't be the only place where gamers can play. "We will probably do a time-limited BONUS playlist in case you JUST want to get familiar with new maps. That will have most popular modes," he said.

Skyjacked Black Ops 3 Map

The Skyjacked Black Ops 3 map is a remake. This is already present in the previous "Call of Duty" games. This is the reimagining of the map Hijacked from "Black Ops 2." However, there is still so much to be excited about it because it comes with many changes that enable gamers new movement options present in "Black Ops 3."

Dan Bunting, game director of Multiplayer at Treyarch, revealed that he is most excited in this map because it is "fast, frentic and chaotic."

Storage

Before you download the DLC, make sure that you have enough storage. Activision announced that the PS4 "Black Ops 3: Awakening" DLC and the patch will take 9.1GB to 9.34GB. If you download without checking your PS4's available storage, you might end up deleting items in a hurry. Moreover, the download will take time so, set aside time to download it.
