While the number of celebs endorsing a certain diet is definitely a plus factor, the success of these weight loss methods could also be gauged by the number of people who sticks by it and shows vote of confidence for its effectivity. Here are some of the most successful diets according to OpenTable, a popular restaurant booking service.

1. Low Sugar Diet

English singer and TV personality James Argent, and English actress and model Jennifer Ellison are both associated with the low sugar diet, and so does 84 percent of Brits who have tried the diet.

Added sugar, as opposed to those found naturally in most fruits, does not add any nutritional value and is also linked to obesity and cardiovascular problem, according to Oprah.com. One key is to add more green, leafy vegetables and protein to one's diet that could also help regulate blood sugar levels.

Jennifer Hudson's name, meanwhile, is linked to the diet, which has an 83 percent success rate among Brits. "You rarely get a pat on the back when you've shed more than two pounds in a week, but with Weight Watchers/Slimming World's support network, you're more likely to keep at it and reach your ultimate weight," says OK! "So this is not only one of the most popular ways to slim, but likely to be one of the most successful coming in at number two."

3. Alkaline Diet

"The Alkaline Diet is really only recommended for die-hard dieters. After all it includes cutting out some of our fondest indulgences like pasta, wheat, dairy products, meat, fish, coffee, tea, sugar, fizzy drinks and, wait for it, alcohol," Ok! also noted.

Jennifer Aniston and Victoria Beckham are two of the famous celebs who adhere to the diet. Since our body is naturally and mostly alkaline, it is recommended to consume more alkaline foods like most fruits and veggies, soy beans and legumes.
