A rumour has spread across the Internet about "The Division" PC version is being held back because of consoles. Ubisoft now denies this isn't simply true.

According to Game Debate, Team Epiphany, a YouTube user, went all the way to New York to speak to Ubisoft after reports from an anonymous Ubisoft developer that Tom Clancy's "The Division" had to be scaled down on PC in order to accommodate consoles. During the interview, they spoke to an unnamed developer who admitted cross-platform development had some influence on the PC version of "The Division."

When asked if the developers were restricted in any way with how far they can push The Division due to the difference between the platforms, he responded by saying:

"It is definitely a factor. But one good thing about The Division is that we've always considered PC as a separate platform. I've worked on projects before where the PC version's a port from a console, so it carries those limitations over, but we've always been in the mind that we'll have a dedicated PC build, so it hasn't really held it back too much."

More so, the unnamed developer added that they developers kind of need to keep it in check with consoles since it would be unfair to push it so far away from them. This has prompted a lot of reactions from gamers.

However, it should be noted that this isn't the first time that developers admit to cross-platform development has affected how well the game performs especially in PC versions.

Shack News reported that Ubisoft has responded with the comment by saying that the PC version of The Division was developed from the ground from the very beginning. Developers are confident that the players will enjoy the game and the features this new version has to offer.

More so, the feedback from PC players who participated in the recent closed beta supports this claim. "The Division" in PC version was not held back and the rumour is simply not true. This was an official statement submitted to PCGamesN denying what the unnamed developer previously said.

In an uncommon move for a console game, Ubisoft will allow players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to turn off or adjust certain visual features to prioritize frame rate in its upcoming game The Division. On PC, gamers can typically change resolution and all manners of visual effects to improve the overall look or the speed of the game.

"The Division" is set to be released in March and recently held a closed beta on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Check out "The Division" Gameplay interview by Shack News:
