"Half-Life 3" is one of the most anticipated titles among gamers. It's almost a decade since Valve released "Half-Life 2" and gamers are dying for the game's next iteration. Will the next game see the light of day soon? New reports say, it will.

A certain Reddit user leaked valuable information about the release date "Half Life 3," Parent Herald reported. The conversation, which was reportedly legitimate, had been archived.

"The product may release this year, the biggest factor that I've heard is marketability," an anonymous user wrote.

Per the report, a Valve representative requested Reddit moderators to delete the said forum. At the time, it is no longer accessible.

"A moderator of that sub confirmed that the user had sent proof of their legitimacy. At around 4:30 PM EST, the thread was removed because Valve apparently contacted the mod and asked him to remove it."

Breathecast reported that a statement from the site was released saying, "The whole thing was likely a hoax."

Many fans are hoping that "Half-Life 3" is on the way. Unfortunately, things are still unclear. According to Neuro Gadget, nothing is certain about the future of the anticipated title.

Per the report, Marc Laidlaw has left Valve. His exit worries many "Half-Life" fans because he was part of the development team.

In fact, Laidlaw wrote the stories for the original "Half-Life" title. He was also involved in the creation of the previous games.

Without Laidlaw, the future of the title has even become darker. Some reports claim that Valve might just cancel the development of "Half-Life 3" altogether.

However, in a separate report from Parent Herald, Laidlaw left Valve because feels too old for the gaming industry.

"An outwardly obvious reason is that I'm old, or anyway oldish. My nickname when I first started at Valve in 1997 was 'old man Laidlaw'. The little baby level designer who gave me that that nickname is now older than I was then," he said.

"I had a good run but lately, I have been feeling a need for a break from the collaborative chaos of game production, and a return to more self-directed writing projects."

The report notes that there are still chances that Valve will be pushing "Half-Life 3" even without Laidlaw. The development team will not allow Laidlaw's disappearance to stop them in pursuing the next iteration of the popular game.

What do you think will happen to the "Half-Life" series without Laidlaw? Will Valve pursue "Half-Life 3?" Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
