Sonos has a surprise to all Apple Music subscribers today. They will officially be supporting Apple Music to its wireless speakers.

9To5Mac reported that, starting Feb. 10, Apple Music would be available on Sonos wireless speakers.

The team had a beta testing last year and they found out that Apple Music through the Sonos Controller app is better than Apple's own app.

Apple senior vice president of Internet software and services Eddy Cue told BuzzFeed that they are big fans of Sonos. When he was asked why Sonos didn't support Apple Music from the start, considering that it supported Beats Music, he explained that the process would take time to get it right.

"It's important to get the integration right the first time out," he said. Apple has a high bar for this stuff; so does Sonos. Apple Music isn't even 6 months old yet, so this really did not take much time at all.

According to MacRumors, the beta testing started on Dec. 15. Hundreds of thousands of listeners tried Apple Music on the Sonos platform and they find it to be a "great" and "amazing listening experience."

"The feedback from Apple Music members on Sonos during the beta period has been great," Cue said. "Sonos plus Apple Music provides an amazing listening experience at home - and we're excited to offer it to all Sonos customers starting tomorrow."

Per the report, before the announcement of the official Apple Music support, Sonos conducted a study on the positive effects of musing listening in the home using an Apple Music subscription with a Sonos sound system. The study learned that families who listen to music in their home regularly spent 67 percent more time together. Furthermore, they ate together, which is another beneficial result.

Sonos co-founder and CEO John MacFarlane revealed to BuzzFeed that 90 percent of the music people listen to on Sonos speakers is from streaming services. The Sonos and Apple Music integration will surely raise this percentage even higher.

Prior to this great news, many music lovers have been looking forward to experiencing Apple Music on Sonos. In fact, they were surprised that this was not available when Apple Music launched on June 30.

To experience the power of Sonos and Apple Music altogether, one has to select "Add Music Services" from a Sonos Controller app and choose the Apple Music icon. The user will be prompted to log into the services. After that, you can directly access Apple Music features including For You, Radio and My Music.
