Pokémon GO may not be as popular as it was when it was first released. But that hasn't stopped game developer, Niantic, from doing its best to lure players back with new features and updates.

Now that Halloween is fast approaching, Niantic is holding a Halloween Event for Pokémon GO and fans are excited for all the double candy and spooky Pokémon spawn rate.

JBH News reported Niantic confirming that they are having a Halloween Event for Pokémon GO fans. The newest arrival of the most recent update showed the new egg patterns. It also previously mentioned what the Pokémon trainers can get from hatching eggs will depend on the distance required for hatching. Now, the list of Pokémon has changed and the appearance of the egg will also be different for each of the required distance types.

"Trick-or-Treat, Trainers! It's Halloween season and we have a treat for you!," said Niantic. "If you encounter more spooky Pokémon than normal, don't be startled, they want to enjoy the fun too. Scare up some friends, grab your buddy and enjoy this spooky, fun celebration with us. Happy Halloween!"

According to reports, the update may potentially double the amount of Candy you make every time you catch, hatch or transfer your Pokémon back to Professor Willow. Buddy Pokémon will also earn Candy four times faster than usual.

As reported by Wired, from October 26 to November 1, Niantic has hinted that the number of spooky Pokémon spawning could also increase. This will include Ghastly, Haunter, Gengar, Zubat, Golbat, Drowzee and Hypno

Eggs that are expected to hatch sooner will appear differently in incubators. The 2km eggs will be covered in green spots, the 5km eggs have yellow spots and the 10km eggs are shown with purple spots.

Meanwhile, in other parts of the world, Pokémon GO is in the process of being updated to version 0.43.3 for Android and 1.13.3 for iOS devices. Niantic posted an update on their official blog which read, "Professor Willow has discovered that eggs have different patterns depending on the distance required to hatch them."
