2016 American Music Awards: Nominees include Selena, Gomez, Justin Bieber, and Rihanna

Fans have picked the nominees for the highly awaited Artist of the year award for the 2016 American Music Awards. Voting that took four weeks, ended with adding Selena Gomez, Rihanna and Justin. The singers will be battling to take way the title on Sunday, Nov. 20.

The five singers competing for winning the title are Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Carrie Underwood and Ariana Grande.

Rihanna has already stacked up seven nominations; Justin falls just behind her with five nominations, Underwood is just in between with three, Gomez with two and Ariana Grande has only one.

Ariana will take the stage with Nicki Minaj for their top collaboration "Side to Side," which won the sixth place on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song "Side by Side" is said to be a song strongly addressing sex emotions and strong feelings. Ariana Grande who sang "Love Me Harder," and then "Into You" has finally released "Side by Side" in collaboration with Minaj.

Huffington Post writes that she's a bona fide dangerous woman who isn't afraid to tell us all about her sex life.  

Billboard writes that the grand event will be thumping with life with see performances from Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Bruno Mars, Twenty One Pilots and on-stage collaborations from Maroon 5 and Kendrick Lamar as well as The Chainsmokers' and Halsey with their record-breaking No. 1 hit "Closer."

The thrill is still on as the fans can cast more votes for the Artist of the Year category up until November 17 (Thursday).

The fans are making their predications for the title deserving artist of the year. Though, the top singers have all the chance to win the title in the past, some multiple times and some only once but it is tough to make an accurate prediction.
