Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, also known as Lady Gaga, reveals that she has now suffered from the mental illness called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It is a mental health condition that is triggered by a terrifying event.

Two years ago Lady Gaga revealed that she had been raped at the age of 19 by 20 years older. According to The Guardian, when she was visiting the Ali Forney Center for homeless LGBT youth in New York, Lady Gaga spoke out about her mental illness for the first time. Her comments were aired in an interview Monday night.

In her interview on Today Show, the 30-year-old actress stated that she keeps her secret 7 years without telling anybody about what happened to her. During her visitation, Gaga taught the kids on how to control or deals with the stress and did a meditation with the young people.

According to CNN News, she feels scary every time she remembers what happened when she was 19. The founder and executive director told that Lady Gaga has always been extraordinarily supportive of the LGBT community.

They also added that 75% of young people that come to the center are subjected to either physical or sexual abuse in their homes because parents couldn't accept them. She wanted to show young people in the LGBT community that they are not a trash to the community.

In their situation, she felt the same way as what those young people undergo when they are being bullied by others. In short, showing your true colors doesn't make you a wrong person and don't mind what other people said, be the better version of yourself.

Her song entitled 'Till it happens to you' was nominated because it is focused on the assaulted experience. And the song was featured in the documentary, "The Hunting Ground," about sexual assault on campus.
