The 2017 Grammy nominations provides a much-needed good news to Kanye West who is clocking in with an impressive number of nominations from the prestigious Recording Academy. With eight noms this year and 68 noms total, West is the second most nominated male artist in Grammy's history, surpassed only by Quincy Jones with 79.

The nominations for the 2017 Grammy Awards have been officially announced. Beyonce continues to lead as the most nominated female artist in Grammy history with 62 nominations and 20 wins. If she wins just eight of the nine noms, she will pass Alison Krauss as the winningest female artist in the history of the Grammy awards. However, West and Drake will be going head to head in the hip-hop categories as they both have eight nominations each.

Although West's "The life of Pablo" was passed over in the top category including Album of the Year, he received nomination for "famous" and gospel-infused "Ultra light Beam" which were recognized for 'Best Rap Song and Best Rap Album/sung performance'.

Yahoo reported that, amidst the setback, it is a bright spot in what could be described as an exceedingly difficult few weeks for the rap artist, who canceled his Saint Pablo Tour dates and entered UCLA for a week-long treatment of Exhaustion and sleep deprivation, although friends say that he is now beginning to return to some sense of normalcy.

West source told People that, "He is doing well and getting better all the time. I have been exchanging emails with him and he is very much himself."

It is also reported that the 39-year-old artist attempted to make music from his hospital bed and now those close to him are certain that he is plotting his next creative move even though he is under orders to rest. The source continue to say,

"I think West's going to come out of this stronger than ever, creative, fully intact and is going to contribute so much more awesome songs."

The 2017 Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center on February 12, in L.A and will be hosted by James Corden.
