Google Nexus and Google Pixel became the first smartphone to get the latest Android Nougat 7.1.1 almost a week ago and soon other smartphone manufacturers will join the wagon but nothing can explain being the first brand to do it. Speculations suggest that Sony aims to be the first smartphone manufacturer to roll out the Nougat 7.1.1 for its Sony Xperia XZ series.

Yesterday, a report surfaced about Sony Xperia X Performance to get Nougat 7.0 OTA update and in just a day span, Sony has again topped the list of hitmakers after sources confirmed that Xperia XZ will get its very own Android 7.1.1 update that will make Sony the first brand to release the version.

Sony has already rolled out the Nougat 7.0 for the Sony Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ and plans to take a step further for its Xperia XZ series of smartphones. As per EcumenicalNews, the update is likely to be sent over-the-air. Other Xperia X series to join the wagon are Xperia X5, Xperia Z4 Tablet, and Xperia Z3.

Android Nougat 7.1.1 is a refined version of its predecessor Nougat 7.0. It will give the smartphone the capabilities of multitasking and Apple's 3D Touch like experience. Enjoy more out of usual battery life with new Doze Mode 2.0. Android Nougat 7.1.1 enables sharing of video and audio files through its messaging app. Google Allo is the new addition to Android Nougat 7.1.1 so that the users can enjoy Apple's Siri-like experience. Moreover, Google Allo is integrated with Home Screen to enhance more functions.

Security is not an issue with Android Nougat 7.1.1 with its rich security feature. Xperia Blog published a report aiming towards Xperia Concept developers who are working round the clock to release the new update. As per the reports, Sony is waiting for certification from Google and expect the update to release in coming weeks.

Sony will send the update over-the-air which means it could take the time to reach devices. When the users receive an update, he/she will be notified about the same in the Notification Tray from where they must download it and install it. Once done, follow the given instructions.
