Nintendo will release their first smartphone game Super Mario Run today on December 15, 2016, after two years of waiting.

Super Mario Run will be available worldwide on iOS devices from today. This game was a big announcement at Apple's iPhone 7 event this year and since then everyone's eye was on it.

As stated in the Bloomberg, Gibson said that it's not like Super Mario Run will be Pokemon Go of 500 million downloads in 2 months. Still, investors believe on Nintendo's ability.

Super Mario Run will be available at 8 am UTC in more than 151 countries. Players will get access to three levels initially with a free download. Further to enjoy the game more, the player will have to pay $9.99 to unlock all 24 stages.

The user can expect around 370MB storage space according to NDTV Gadgets 360°. One of the biggies is that user will need active internet connection to play this game. Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto who is the creator of Mario told that the decision is taken for an online game is to combat the piracy.

Miyamoto added that for them, they view their software as a very important asset. They want to make sure that they are able to offer security to the customers who are purchasing the game. And user will be able to play it in a stable environment.

The reason behind them being worried this much about security is that the game is releasing in 150 countries with different network environments. So, they must have to make it secure for all users.

Android users might not feel good because of the decision was taken by Nintendo to release this game in only iOS devices as two-third of the smartphone users have an android system. Still, there is no specified date of release for android but it is expected to release on early 2017.

Nintendo is expecting a big entry into smartphone game category with Super Mario Run.
