It is a big news for all the Star Trek fans since Sonequa Martin-Green makes an entry as the leading lady in Star Trek: Discovery. The Walking Dead star has already won the hearts of millions through her role and is now ready to rock the silver screen with her presence.

According to a famous magazine, Green who was seen playing the role of Sasha Williams in The Walking Dead will be seen portraying the role of lieutenant officer of Starfleet. This is quite unusual compared to the role of the Captain what the other leading ladies have played in Star Trek sequels.

The casting of Star Trek has ended its long search for the right actress for the latest CBS All Access drama. As per the latest news doing the rounds, Green will continue to be seen in the Zombie drama on CBS, where she is seen featuring as the strong willed survivor Sasha Williams.

It is indeed a great news for The Walking Dead fans as Green would be a regular on the show even after being a part of the latest Star Trek: Discovery. The news about casting Green came right after the announcement that stated Mary Chieffo, Chris Obi and Shazad Latif will all play the role of Klingons belonging to different status and ranks.

Looking at the casting of Star Trek: Discovery fans can easily assume that the team is gearing up for something big this time by including so many big names. Along with these stars, it also came to be heard that Doug Jones, the famous Hellboy actor would be a part of the series. Not too far behind were two more actors, Anthony Rapp and Michelle Yeoh.

Now,  the fans need to wait till May 2017 to see their favorite actress Sonequa Martin-Green join the Star Trek gang along with a few new faces. But again, the speculations seem to be true since the news has come right from the horse's mouth, the sci- fi series producer, Alex Kurtzman. Till then, the fans need to wait patiently and keep their fingers crossed.
