This is the first time that SpaceX has made to the coveted annual list of the job hunting website Glassdoor. Placed 40th in the esteemed list was no mean achievement considering it beat the likes of grocery store chain Wegmans, BASF corporation, Ikea and Mayo Clinic.

The power list was topped by Bain & Company and included many heavyweights like Apple, Google, Facebook, Linkedin and Adobe. According to Inverse, SpaceX scored high for its exciting and encouraging work environment, unique mission of space exploration and the challenging possibility of Mars colonization.

However balancing the professional and personal life is quite challenging for its employees considering the immense focus and comparatively longer hours that Spacex demands. It can be stressful at times but mostly it remains a highly satisfying and rewarding workplace.

Its success can be measured by the fact that a whopping 97% of its employees who participated in the survey vouched for its CEO Elon Musk who is more known as the head honcho of his other dream venture - Tesla Motors which offers premium electric sedans and SUV's.

Being CEO of two of the worlds most innovative and fast growing companies must be very taxing. According to Business Insider, Elon Musk is rumoured to carry sleeping bags to his office and considering the amount of time he puts in (100+ hours per week!), the gossip may not be far from the truth. Musk's success is attributed to his unfathomable Self confidence and relentless drive.

University Herald adds that 90% of SpaceX employees felt happy to recommend the company to their friends and family. They termed its work culture "Interesting" and "Compelling". One of them even went on to the extent of calling it "Out of this world".

Considering the company's Space mission it might literally be an "Out of this World" experience.
