Pitch Perfect 3 will hit theaters this year. But fans of the musical movie series may not be very pleased to know that Treblemakers, The Bella's male counterpart will not be returning in the next installment which means that the on-and-off romance between Fat Amy and Bumper may end infinitely.

It can be remembered that Fat Amy played by Rebel Wilson and Bumper with actor Adam DeVine won the heart of fans with their funny, blossoming love in Pitch Perfect 2. And although, The Bellas made it a rule not to hook-up with any guys from other competing groups but Fat Amy and Bumper were secretly hooking up for quite some time before they revealed their love in that 'river scene' where Fat Amy rode on a canoe singing with Bumper responding as well. Another budding romance between Beca (Anna Kendrick) and Jesse (Skylark Astin) also developed in the latter part of the movie.

Unfortunately, fans may not see more of these fun-sweet moments as Skylar Astin announced on Instagram, cited by Seventeen, that the Treblemakers' role will not be reprised in Pitch Perfect 3 saying that the 'producers seem to be taking the story in a different direction.' The direction of women dominance of the Bellas, maybe. Who knows!

This was not the first time that Anna Camp's husband hinted about the change in the movie's plot. In a previous Instagram post, he was optimistic saying that the change is not the end of his character, Jesse saying that Astin can 'bring him back in some form or maybe a spin-off' could be possible, Refinery 29 reported.

Meanwhile, if Treblemakers' roles will not be reprised, the Barden Bellas are surely here to stay with members Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow and Hailee Steinfeld. Elizabeth Banks will also be returning for her role as the commentator, Gail. However, she will not be in the director's chair and will be replaced by Trish Sie who previously directed Step Up: All In, Mail Online reported.

The new installment will also welcome, Ruby Rose, in The Bella clique. The source also hinted that Bumper may not be completely erased in the list and may have the chance to finally walk down the aisle with on-and-off girlfriend, Fat Amy.

Pitch Perfect 3 will hit theaters on December 22, 2017.
