Another Key Apple Accessory Might Be Delayed Past Christmas

It has not been a good past few months for Apple and deadlines. The AirPod and BeatX wireless headphones that were promised to be released to make the iPhone 7 tolerable have been delayed for months, and it now looks like a key MacBook Pro accessory will not make it to dealer outlets before Christmas.

The LG 5K monitor which Apple has tipped as a replacement for its Thunderbolt Display was initially promised to be available for delivery in early December. Well, it is now long past early December, and an LG representative has apparently confirmed to 9to5Mac that the display is going to be delayed, according to yahoo.

Apple originally said the display would be available in December, so technically, we are not behind schedule yet. But Apple also announced promotional pricing for the 5K monitor which goes for $974, over $300 less than the RRP which goes for $1299. The promo price runs until December 31st, so Apple was clearly expecting it to be on sale earlier than the end of the month.

Fans who are interested in the LG's 5K monitor will have to hasten to get the deal as Pre-orders are not yet open, which gives buyers 10 days at best to place an order.

LG's 5K Ultra-Fine monitor was introduced by Apple during the MacBook Pro keynote as a replacement for Apple's Thunderbolt Display. The monitor was designed by LG in close collaboration with Apple, and it heavily uses the USB-C standard that Apple is pushing hard in its latest computers, according to BGR.
