'Alien: Covenant' Teased With New Image, James Franco Also Confrimed To Play The Ship's Captain

The release date of ''Alien: Covenant'' is getting close. As the dispatch approaches, fans are being treated with a photograph of the film and the news of James Franco given a role as the ship's chief.

Ridley Scott is returning to the his gem establishment Aliens. He is bringing these unnerving creatures back in real life through the continuation of "Prometheus". A month ago the poster of the sequel ''Alien: Covenant'' with a Xenomorph was prodded in the official Alien Anthology Twitter account. It created a lot of excitement for the fans. Today another photo was uploaded by the account. It shows a still from the film that has Soldiers aka Marines with weapons, moving in stealth.

The photo was also uploaded along with a mysterious number. The number is "220512052104", the motive here is unclear. However, rumors are that it could be the date the of the trailer release and the year the story is set in.

Of course the soldiers in the photo could be the crew of the colony ship Covenant. However the superior announcement is regarding the ships Captain. As per reports from comicbook.com James Franco is confirmed to play this role. In an interview from the YouTube channel Hey U Guys Franco partially accepts the rumor in the presence of Bryan Cranston. Be that as it may, his IMDB page looks pretty sure of him being a part of the film. Speculations are that Franco will only be appearing in the beginning portion (10 minutes) of the film.

An additional intriguing information is that James Franco's character 'Branson' in this film will be married to a character called 'Daniels', to be portrayed by Katherine Waterson. Other notable cast members include Michael Fassbender as the synthetic called 'David', Noomi Rapace as 'Elizabeth Shaw', Guy Pearce as 'Peter Weyland' and Danny McBride.

''Alien: Covenant'' is set to release on the 19th of May next year. Fans are still eagerly waiting for the trailer of the film.
