Once again the North Pole is expected to see a surge in its temperature by up to 32 degree Fahrenheit from Wednesday right through Thursday. This rise in temperature is expected to take place in spite of lack of sunshine in far north in the month of December.

The temperature is expected to go beyond 50 degrees from the average that North Pole has during this time of the year. Interestingly, this rise in temperature that is expected to take place on North Pole would be happening for the second time in a row during this time in December. That's not all, it would also be happening for the second time in many months.

Arctic regions are expected to witness a freakishly high temperature as compared to the normal temperature. Some of the computer models, on Thursday projected that showed that the temperature of the North Pole would be around 40 degrees to 50 degrees higher than the normal temperature. It would be moving towards 32 degrees, which is the melting point.

Interestingly, some of the temperature forecasting maps showing Arctic temperatures, the color indiactor doesn't go beyond the mentioned levels. Some reports states that the warm winds would be the main reason for the sudden rise in temperature. It would be blown in by a strong storm from the east of Greenland.

Considering the European weather model, one can assume these strong winds to be similar to category three hurricanes. According to WeatherBell Analytics Meteorologist, Ryan Maue, "That's pretty intense."

He further added that depleted sea ice mainly covers Nordic Sea. This inturn creates a passageway for the warm air to move towards the North. He said, "You have more real estate available to advect the warm and moist air northward."

A doctoral student at the Arctic University of California-Irvine, Zachary Labe said, "The warm ocean acts as a buffer to keep the air temperatures from getting colder."

Earlier in November the same resulted in colder North America and warmer North Pole. Now, it is time which would show if history is to repeat itself in December.
