Earlier in the month, Asus confirmed its participation in the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017, which will be held in Las Vegas in the first week of January.

The Taiwanese technology company has scheduled an unveiling event under the Zennovation banner and has also released its first video teaser, hinting the launch of two new smartphones as the Qualcomm Snapdragon logo accompanied Asus on the official invite.

The 37-second clip, Asus showcased two mystery phones, one, tagged with character "A" on its screen and the other with an infinity symbol (∞). The video ends with a giant galaxy forming an eye in the dark background.

The first phone tagged with "A" on its display is most likely to be the Zenfone AR, as the company CEO in November confirmed Google's second generation Project Tango phone (Zenfone AR), with augmented reality features and 3D imaging technology would be in unveiled in January's CES 2017 event.

There are no available updates on the hardware specifications, but it will come with advanced functionality and performance compared to Google's first generation Project Tango-based phone Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, and will be priced reasonably, according to IBTimes.

The second Asus phone tagged with the infinity symbol is most probably the Zenfone 3 Zoom, as the infinity symbol was in fact used on its predecessor's package box (Zenfone Z∞M). Coincidently, just a few days ago, Zenfone 3 Zoom made an appearance on TENNA, the Chinese government-run telecommunication certification agency website, revealing internal hardware and design language details.

The Zenfone 3 Zoom in the leaked images looks very different from its predecessors. It features a huge camera module with optical Zoom, just like the Nokia Lumia 1020 with PureView camera. The new Zenfone 3 Zoom's rear look like the dual-camera-based iPhone 7 Plus.

On the front, the new Zenfone 3 Zoom's design language is identical to the generic Zenfone 3 series having 5.5 inches full HD display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and protected by 2.5D curved glass shield. It is also reported to have the same system configuration.

The device is packed with 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core CPU, a 4,850mAh battery and 16MP+13MP primary camera module on the back, dual LED flash and laser autofocus, with the Adreno 506 GPU, according to PCMag.

It is reported that the device will be available in three variants, the 2GB RAM+16GB storage, 3GB RAM+32GB storage and 4GB RAM+64GB storage. Asus will host the Zennovation event a day head of CES 2017 on January 4 at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas 11:30 PST.
