Co-stars Martin Freeman And Amanda Abbington Call It Quits; Heartbreak For Sherlock Actor Fans

Hollywood has been seing a lot of heartbreaks lately. The newest couple to join the break-up league include the Sherlock actors, Martin Freeman and partner Amanda Abbington.  The couple, who were together for over 15 years have now decided to go their ways.

The Sherlock co-stars was believed to have met back in 2000 on the sets of Men Only. They are also believed to be parents to two kids.

According to an interview given to the Financial Times, Freeman said, "I'm not with Amanda any more. It's very, very amicable - I'll always love Amanda."

Even though Martin hasn't revealed the real reason behind their split. Fans have started speculated Martin's success after his acclaimed role in The Hobbit, to be the real reason.

When asked the real reason, Martin to hinted towards it and even said that to a certain extent his career was responsible for the split.

Interestingly, the Sherlock actors had always been extremely private about their relationship. In fact, even after Freeman gave hints that they might have gone down the aisle, there were no official confirmation from them.

When replying to a reporter at Radio Times, Martin had dropped numerous hints that the couple might have married. This was when Freeman was asked if the couple were already seeing each other.

However, the fans didn't receive a clear answer as Martin mentioned he liked keeping his private life private. He even added that being an public actor, he feels no need to disclose his private life.

The relationship between the recently estranged couple had always been amicable. E ven after the split Martin went ahead to say that they would still share a good bond.

Sadly, the split has hit the Sherlock fans way too much than others since both these actors star on the show. In fact, both the actors also play the role of husband and wife in the show. In such a case, their separation is definitely difficult to accept for their fans.
