Apple AirPods: Apple Charms Customers By Early Shipment Date

In Apple event this September, Apple surprised the whole world by removing the old 3.5mm audio jack in iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and introduced AirPods.

Fans were both excited and disappointed as AirPods did not go on sale with iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Now, Apple AirPods are available on Apple's website from December 13. According to the reports by MacRumors, customers started receiving their shipments as early as December 19.

However, after just two hours of listing, Apple's shipping estimate slipped to four weeks and to six weeks later that day. Six weeks generally means late January or Early February for people who order within one week of listing.

Apple does not want to disappoint their users and started shipping earlier than expected date. Some customers received a delivery estimate for late December. One customer who received the delivery date of January 12 received the shipping notice that AirPods will now arrive on December 28th.

Same case with some other customers as well. The orders before January 12 are supposed to be delivered in December only. While Apple delivers AirPods before estimated time, some other resellers like Sprint and Verizon are failed to do so.

AT&T also sells AirPods but they are no clear about the shipment dates. Apple AirPods comes with charging case. It is available on Apple website for $159 and currently estimated shipment is six weeks.

As written in International Business Times, Apple announced before the release that, AirPods will begin shipping in limited quantities at launch. Apple said that "Customers are encouraged to check online for updates on availability and estimated delivery dates. Stores will receive regular AirPod shipments".

This Tuesday Apple activated in-store pickup service for AirPods which will allow customers to click and collect their wireless earphones from stores. This week some Apple authorized resellers and carriers began receiving a limited number of AirPods.

People don't need to worry if they received the shipment date after six weeks. There might be a surprise for them as well and they may receive their brand new AirPods in January.
