Apple Releases AirPort Firmware Update Versions 7.7.8 and 7.6.8 Plus Fixes For 'Back To My Mac' Bug

Apple release firmware updates for AirPort podium on Tuesday; these are versions 7.6.8 and 7.7.8.

Conforming to the release reports of Apple, the new revamp fixes problems about routers. This is when routers would not retort to the AirPort Utility when "Back to My Mac" is enabled. Some unidentified security fixes are also included.

Disable the feature and reboot the routers to fix "Back to my Mac" problem. In this, the software patch can now be installed. The improvements of AirPort software are installed via the AirPort Utility.

According to Apple Insider, speculations are swirling online claiming that Apple will not anymore release a firmware update for the AirPort platform. However, the release of new firmware updates denote continues support of Apple in the software.

Though Apple discontinued the improvement on its AirPort wireless routers, the company remains constant in supplying bug repairs and revamps.

Moreover, patches security holes is included in the just released firmware update of Apple. Nevertheless, there is nothing to consider on the restoration of security problems.

Users can choose two platforms in order to download the firmware update. The download can be done via AirPort Utility app on iOS device or through AirPort Utility on Mac.

They need to open the app, and the firmware update has to be visible. The download process is simple, which takes about two minutes.

As per the WccFtech they found out that the update doesn't alter the base station set up. And after finishing the update, the router will function in a normal basis.

Apple's routers have earned favorable critiques from customers. AirPort obtains highest satisfaction standings compared to other routers as per J.D Power reports. Asus got the second place and D-Link rank as number three.

The Apple firmware update version 7.7.8 is on hand for 802.11ac base stations, while 7.6.8 is available for 802.11n base stations.
