BlackBerry's new hardware partner TCL announced that next generation BlackBerry smartphones will be officially launched at CES 2017. Consumer Electronic Show aka CES will be held in Las Vegas from 5 to 8 January 2017.

Back in September, Canada-based tech giant Blackberry declared that they will close its hardware division. Despite that, the firm still has a lot of faith in the blackberry brand.

BlackBerry is in partnership with Chinese multinational electronics corporation TCL. Since the partnership, they have already cooperated on smartphones, named DTEK50 and DTEK60.

According to the TCL, the launching of BlackBerry's new Android smartphone will be an evolution in the smartphone industry. However, nothing is specified by the company about the specifications of the smartphone.

As stated in GSMArena, Steve Cistulli, General Manager of TCL, mentioned that they will unveil their plans for the BlackBerry smartphone brand. However, he gives a glimpse about the new BlackBerry smartphones.

As per the PhoneArena, QWERTY keypad could be removed from new devices. It will feature Snapdragon 625 processor, 4.5 inch HD display, 3 GB RAM, 3400 mAh battery and fingerprint scanner.

BlackBerry's new smartphone will run on Android 7.0 Nought with BlackBerry's specific security features. It will come with 32GB of inbuilt storage, 18MP rear camera, and 8MP front camera.

At this time, there is uncertainty about the availability of new smartphone, but it is assumed that it is going to be released in the United States. However, the partnership between BlackBerry & TCL doesn't allow it to sell in some of the Asian countries.

The Partnership between BlackBerry & TCL is very similar to the Partnership between Nokia & HMD Global. However, in this tie-up TCL has semi-exclusive rights to build & sell BlackBerry devices.

There are some assumptions that the joint partnership BlackBerry and TCL will launch a couple of mid-range semi-premium smartphones with the android operating system along with BlackBerry's specific security features.
