Science always amuses everyone by the facts. Scientists always experiment and discover new things time by time.

Here are 23 science facts which were unknown till 2016 as stated in Science Alert and E-Radio.US.

1. Gravitational waves are real. Researchers finally detected the elusive ripples in space-time more than 100 years after Einstein's first prediction.

6. A revolutionary new type of nuclear fusion machine which was being trialed in Germany really works and it could be the key to clean unlimited energy.

Scientists are trying since long time to find a new planet like earth. Next fact is on that.

7. In the Alpha Centauri star system, there is an Earth-like planet which is 4.2 light-years away. Scientists are already planning a mission to visit this planet.

8. Earth has a second mini-moon orbiting it which is known as a 'quasi-satellite'. It is called 2016 HO3.

As everyone knows, Pluto was removed from the solar system in August 2006. There are eight planets currently.

Next fact is quite strange and it is about one of the most fundamental compounds of the Earth.
