Arc System Works has announced its new "Double Dragon IV" game. The game will launch digitally on PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam and will cost 800 yen (around US$6.83). It will launch worldwide on January 30, 2017.

Double Dragon is one of the classic franchises that many gamers have enjoyed and are familiar with. However there was no much update from its developer over a period of time and development of new dragon title ceased but it seems the franchise is about to be revived.

In some few weeks from now, players will be able to acquire the new Double Dragon IV. Although instead of releasing the game with a brand new graphics, it seems that Arc System Works have decided to maintain the same 1980s visual style but adds several new updates. Every mode can now be played by two players at the same time, according to Gematsu.

In 2015, game developer Arc System Works purchased the rights to Double Dragon series. The game celebrates the franchise's 30th anniversary. The story will continue from the elimination of the Shadow Warriors in 1988's "Double Dragon II: The Revenge."

Last year Arc System Works announced that it had acquired the rights to Double Dragon and a number of other Technos Japan games, according to Anime news network.

The developer of the game has decided to maintain its original staffs which includes Yoshihisa Kishimoto as director, Kakaomi Kaneko as producer, Koji Ogata as character designer, Kazunaka Yamane as music composer and Kei Oyama as the programmer.

The game will be the first properly numbered Double Dragon follow-up since 1990. There are no much details about the game yet but it is expected that the developer will release more details weeks to come on its official website. Check out the trailer below.
