Good news for the printer owners who are tired of changing the cartridge and the people who are not buying the printer for this particular reason. Canon introduced Pixma G-Series "Megatank printers" with refillable ink.

Now, one can print hassle-free with the innovative Mega Tank Ink System which replaces the cartridge. This system can deliver up to 6000 sharp black pages and 7000 vivid color pages with the included set of inks which is equivalent to the performance of 30 conventional ink cartridge sets.

Canon Pixma G-Series Megatank printers are now available at Canon's official site. There are four variants of this series. The first one Pixma G1200 is a single-function model which is for $250. After adding the scanning capabilities, Pixma G2200 is for $270 and assumed to be most selling in near future.

Top models G3200 and G4200 adds Wi-Fi which allows a user to print wireless using AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, USB or Cloud which includes Dropbox, Instagram and more. G3200 model is available for $300. There are LCD display and fax capability in top model G4200 along with an automatic document feeder for multiple copies and it is available for $400.

As stated in Digital Trends, these printers are designed for small and home office use. Ink Tanks in these printers are located at the front of the machine with transparent windows so that user can check the level of ink anytime, unlike other refillable-tank printers.

Mega Tanks in G-series models are easy to use and produces less waste. In each printer, there is a four-color ink system with an extra-large black ink tank. Black color ink holds a 135ml of ink while cyan, magenta, and yellow tanks hold 70ml of ink.

Print speeds in Pixma G-series printers are up to 5 images per minute (IPM) in color and 8.8 images per minute (IPM) in black-and-white. Refill of the tank is not that costly, as bottles of black ink are for $18 while for cyan, magenta and yellow it is only $12.

Canon's Pixma G-series printers offer borderless printing and it can print up to 8.5" × 11". It also offers a maximum resolution of 4800 × 1200 dots per inch.

Canon Pixma G-series all-in-one printers remove the cartridge problem and provide a Mega refillable tank which can perform equivalent to 30 cartridges.
