The current year must be the witness of several incidents, and one such incident is the death of the acting icons Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. The death of these two famous personalities is marked with a certain health condition that is "broken heart".

Medical science says a person can die of a broken heart when his or her dear one dies unexpectedly. The same thing happens when Debbie Reynolds died. A majority of the people says she died of a broken heart.

According to American Heart Association, a person with a true broken heart can be a victim of major cardiac consequences. The key fact is this condition is related to a bond between three health problems.

When depression, mental health, and heart disease are tied together, then "broken-heart" condition appears.

Other names of the broken-heart syndrome are takotsubo cardiomyopathy or stress-induced cardiomyopathy. The surprising truth is even a healthy person can be the victim of this situation.

The study reveals that women are more prone to this disaster than men. Several incidents can lead to such thing, like the death of a loved one, breakup, betrayal or romantic rejection.

MAYO CLINIC reports that broken heart syndrome is the aftermath of the stressful situations, like the death of the loved one. People suffering from this problem can have a heart attack.

American Heart Association opines that a part of the heart enlarges temporarily and can't pump properly in broken heart syndrome. Though other parts of the heart work properly.

Signs of the broken-heart syndrome

Most common signs of this problem are the chest pain and shortness of breath. Another word of the chest pain is angina. Many times people can experience chest pain, though they don't have any previous heart problem.

Tests for broken heart syndrome unveil changes in rhythm and blood substance that are similar to heart attack. But people should not panic as no evidence of blocked heart arteries is present.

But the crucial symptom is Arrhythmias.  'Arrhythmias' means cardiogenic shock, and honestly, this condition is very dangerous. Every year a major portion of death from heart attack actually reveals this cardiogenic shock as the key cause.

Cardiogenic shock is a typical condition when the heart can't pump sufficient amount of blood, which is essential "to meet the body's needs".

Precautions

Broken-heart syndrome can be very dangerous as it can lead to the heart muscle failure. But the good news is modern medical science can treat this problem with complete recovery.

Almost all the health studies reveal that majority of the people who have suffered this situation treated properly and the result is very satisfactory. It is necessary to understand that if such things happen to anyone, then the first step should be to consult the doctor. If detected early, then complete recovery is possible.
