There are a few changes in the plans for Russia's space launching in the year 2017. Compared to the previous years, the new plans are not only that the number of space launches will increase, but also it will double the number.

According to the Space Daily, the Director General of Roscosmos, Igor Komarov specified in a statement that the state space corporation of Russia will be launching twice the rockets into space in the year 2017 as in the outgoing years.

He announced that "The launch program for the next year comes with a considerable increase [in space launches]. Next year, we will effectively see the number of launches double."

With this context, it is very much sure that the space launches from Russia will have a considerable increase which can be seen effectively in the year 2017. Sputnik News say, the first space launches from Roscosmos in Russia for the year 2017 are scheduled in the month of January only at Guiana Spaceports and Kazakhstan's Baikonur.

Roscosmos is the governmental body which carries out Russia's aerospace research as well as space science programs including space launches. Igor Komarov is the director general of Roscosmos since January 2015.

In the year 2016, Russia's Roscosmos did a total of 19 space launches out of which 18 were successful and 1 was failed. Space launch which failed was named as Progress MS-04, and it was launched for applications in cargo supply on 1 December 2016. This was the last space launch from Russia in the year 2016.

Now according to the changes in plans, if in the last year 19 space launches were performed from Roscosmos, in 2017 at least 35 space launches can be seen from Russia's Roscosmos. Director General Igor Komarov looks very positive regarding the upcoming space launches of Roscosmos, but it is yet to be seen the success and failure rates of space launches this year. Till now the success rate of Russia's space launches is more than 95 percent.
