One of the biggest worries of divorcing parents is how the decision will affect the kids. Six children of the Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt seem to be adjusting to the situation well. Recently, they spend a few hours with their dad on Christmas and exchanged gifts. They rang in New Year with their mom as they went on a ski vacation trip with her and her extensive family to Colorado.

Angelina filed for divorce in September 2016. It was not a pretty thing. Fingers were pointed at Brad for his anger management issues, infidelity, and substance abuse. Angelina Jolie was also linked up with other people, and was accused of leaking the details of their custody agreement in her self-interest.

However, things seem to be returning to normal now. On New Year's Day, the 41-year old actress was seen skiing with the three of her kids - Zahara (11), Shiloh (10), and Knox (8). Angelina had rented a luxurious six-bedroom mansion known as Crested Butte to stay in, where guests can skin from the slopes straight to the chalet.

Clad in complete winter sport gear, Angelina braved the bone-chilling weather to make sure that her kids enjoyed their ski lesson. There were moments when she fell down the slope but she managed to climb back up like an expert. Later, the Mail Online reported that she and Vivienne were seen stopping at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for a hot chocolate and an ice-cream.

The US Weekly reported that the kids spent some time with their dad Brad Pitt on Christmas in presence of a therapist. For three months, Jolie and Pitt had been at war over custody rights of their children. Brad had regretted when he could not meet his children for Thanksgiving. Reportedly, Angelina was 'furious', when the Brad's Christmas meet-up with kids was approved. However, she played nice later and let her ex spend some quality time with children.

In a 2002 study, psychologist E. Mavis Hetherington of the University of Virginia found that many children experience short-term negative effects from the divorce of their parents, such as anger, shock and anxiety. However, most of them recover from the initial shock by the end of the second year. Jolie-Pitt kids seem to be recuperating too, and it's good to see it.
