Bleach Manga Is A Much Anticipated Movie, But Why?

Bleach is quite a popular manga series in Japan. 'Manga' is a style of Japanese comic books aimed at both children and adults. It has been the longest-running anime series in Japan (running for over 15 years) and has many fans worldwide. Thankfully, on August 19, 2016, Warner Bros announced that they have undertaken to re-create Bleach manga as a live-action movie, which is expected to be released in 2018.

The TV adaptation of the popular Bleach manga series was aired from October 5, 2004 to March 27, 2012. Tite Kubo, the creator of the popular comic book series, had promised a special announcement to accompany the final chapter of the manga. It turns out that the final chapter was published in August 2016 and it came with the announcement of a live-action movie based on the series.

RocketNews24 reports that Bleach manga has a huge fan following, and many followers were confident that the Japanese anime series will be revived by the publishers in some way.

Shinsuke Sato, known for The Princess Blade and Gantz, will direct the movie. The role of the lead protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki will be played by the Sota Fukushi.

The movie will be faithful to the story of the manga and anime series.

My Anime List reveals that Ichigo is an ordinary hot-headed high school student whose family gets attacked by a Hollow (a corrupt spirit that devours human souls). A Soul Reaper called Rukia Kuchiki tries to protect Ichigo's family from the attack, and gets injured. Rukia offers to pass on his powers to Ichigo so that he can protect himself and his family.

However, Rukia is unable to take the powers back later and Ichigo gets stuck with hunting down the Hollows and save the town. He does find friends to help him in his exploits, each of whom has special superpowers of his or her own.

Bleach is what we call a Shounen manga movie, one which aims an audience of boys who are between the ages of 8 to 18 years old. It is packed with action and comedy with a lot of supernatural stuff and superpowers thrown in.
