Samsung was expected to unveil the Galaxy S8 in February, 2017 at the Mobile World Congress, from recent reports,  it may conduct a separate event in New York City to launch the handset. But it is not sure when the device will be released and a new report claims that Samsung Galaxy S8 release date has been changed to April 18, 2017.

This information arrives from SamMobile  and says Samsung could skip its regular unveiling spot at Mobile World Congress in February and can conduct a separate event in New York in March with the Galaxy S8 but not going on sale until April 18th. This can be a significant delay compared to the Galaxy S7 which was released on March 11th 2016. The Galaxy S6 went on sale in 10th April, Galaxy S5 went on sale in 11th April, and Galaxy S4 went on sale in 27th April. Also the Galaxy S2, S2, S1 handsets were released between the year in May/June.

Samsung has made a division for batteries and given to Samsung SDI, to supply batteries for the Galaxy S8. Because SDI supplied batteries for the 'explosive' Galaxy Note S7, and could be the conclusion and would be reductionist since the same problems was also found when Samsung used replacement batteries by ATL, according to forbes.

It is widely believed that fault does not lie with batteries but how tightly they were packed inside the Galaxy Note 7 and it is confirmed at CES this week that Samsung Galaxy S8 getting close for an exciting Galaxy Note 8 in the works, In a small time Samsung  will put in everyone's minds at ease the better.

This is an unconfirmed report so the April 18 Galaxy S8 release date is not set yet. Samsung is expected to launch two types of the Galaxy S8 this year.
