Three years ago, HP had unveiled the original Sprout which was an all-in-one computer unlike any other PC made by the company ever. It was a unique computer with a touch mat that acted as a second screen and an overhead projector/camera that could scan 3D images.

The first version of HP Sprout was designed for creative professionals and hobbyists and the second version which was released in 2016 targeted the classroom learning. The latest version which was released by HP at CES 2017 has been named the Pro G2, reports Engadget.

According to HP, Pro G2 is a completely redesigned device which features "a higher resolution projection, more powerful processing, advanced 3D scanning and a more accurate precision active pen for drawing compared to the previous model."

HP's Sprout Pro G2 has been redesigned to target manufacturing, retail and education sectors, reports ZDNet. The redesigned Sprout Pro will come with a 2.2mm thick, 35-inch ultrawide, 20-point capacitive Touch Mat display and the projected resolution will be near 1080p.

It comes with a 2.9GHz Core i7-7700T, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M mobile GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 memory, 16GB of 2400MHz DDR4 RAM and has two storage variants including a 1TB hard drive or a 512GB SSD. The new version is also different in its looks with the black paint job on its display, projector and base.

The Sprout Pro also includes a new active stylus, which is an upgrade over the passive one that came with the original Sprout.

The Sprout Pro G2 is expected to be available in the US from March this year and the prices for the same are yet to be confirmed. Since the last edition of Sprout Pro cost $2,199, it can be guessed that the new computer will be at least as expensive as the last one.
