The name 'Faraday Future' might be familiar. If it isn't, it might be because it is a new automobile company with its first model scheduled for launch at CES 2017. The core interest of the company is in making futuristic electric cars (as the name suggests).

The first model of Faraday Future is called FF 91 or as the company lovingly refers to it, 'the first of the species.' According to MotorTrend, a prototype of FF drag-raced a Bentley Bentyaga, a Ferrari 488 GTB and a Tesla Model X. A teaser video of the race was released by the company, showing the prototype beating the three supercars by at least a car's length. So naturally the expectation bar has been set sky high.

A news report on CNBC states that the company is in financial trouble as its major investor LeEco faces shortage of funds and also the exit of its founder Ding
Lei. It is reported that LeEco itself is looking for other investors to fund its own operations.

And as an effect of LeEco's financial troubles, Faraday Future will have troubles finding a U.S. investor. The financial image of 'Faraday Future' looks blurry at best. The only shot they have at proving their worth is CS 2017. FF 91 is expected to create the greatest buzz at the technology summit, which might, in turn, reverse the image of the company.

Until FF 91's launch, nothing can be said of the fate of 'Faraday Future'. But it has been the destiny of great innovators to face financial hardships. And if 'Faraday Future' is to be a game changer in the automobile industry, it will soar out of the bad weather and shine with the history's greats.

CES 2017 will be held at Las Vegas, exhibiting the best of technology around the world. Besides Faraday Future, many other breakthrough innovations are lined up for this year. It will be a feast for all the technophiles out there.
