Smartphone security has increased day by day but still many people are afraid about the security of their data. There are still so many things smartphone knows about its user. Here are some tips to protect the smartphone from spyware so that people can use their phones unworried.

First of all starting with knowledge about spyware and how it enters into a smartphone:

Spyware is one type of virus which allows hackers to look into the phone. Some skilled hackers can install spyware on any smartphone without owner's realization. Now, the hacker can access each and every information from that smartphone.

Hackers can also break into private accounts, email, text messages, contacts, images, and videos etc. But remember one thing that spyware is not always a virus, it can be used to spy on someone's activities also. Like parents can install spyware in children's smartphone to check whether they are doing anything wrong.

Now, moving to avoiding this kind of attacks. Here are some tips:

Don't click strange links

This is the easiest way to avoid spyware. As written in USA Today, if you receive an email from a suspicious stranger, don't open it. If you receive an email or text from someone you do know but the message seems peculiar, contact your friend by phone or social media to see whether the message was intended.

People always get furious to know about the surprise or free stuff and falls into hacker's trap. One need to control the emotions first and then check whether the message is authenticated or not and then open it.

Use PIN or Fingerprint to Lock Phone

Reduce the chance of getting spyware into a smartphone by always locking phones. Also, one need to avoid lending phone to the stranger. Sometimes they actually don't have an emergency which they are showing.

Spyware in Android Phones

As written in Fox News, Android phones are vulnerable to spyware. It is very simple to install a spying app into android phones, once the hacker gets past the lock screen. The user has to make sure that they have the lock screen turned on and their password, PIN or pattern is unknown to others.

Spyware in iPhones

Comparing to Android phones, iPhones are more secure. A recent study of Forbes showed that around 97 percent of all known malware threats only affect android devices. That doesn't mean that iPhones are totally secure and iPhone users don't have to worry about their data.

Apple protects iPhone by all types of spyware but as new spyware introduced time by time, Apple releases update according to that. The user just has to ensure that their iPhone is up to date.

Windows Phones

Till now, Windows mobiles are well protected against spyware apps. But open mobile always invites hackers. So, Windows users need to keep their mobile always protected by password and lock screen.
