Thanks to CGI, the latest addition in the Star Wars saga 'Rogue One' features two familiar face at a more familiar time. The two were Princess Leia and Grand Moff Tarkin. The scene where they appear on the screen with younger faces does very unlikely though, because Carrie Fisher who passed away a month ago, were 19 years old when she played as Leia on the movie 'Star Wars Episode IV : A New Hope'. While 'Rogue One' is set before episode IV. And Peter Cushing who played as Grand Moff Tarkin passed away 22 years ago, it's not possible to make them appear in the movie again as their respective characters this time.

There are other options other than the CGI, but Kathleen Kennedy as the President of Lucasfilm confirms and call the decision to use CGI on those characters according to comicbook; 'No no no, let's not pull the [plug] on this, we're going to get there, this is going to work.' In order to connect the two movies (Rogue One & New Hope) the director Gareth Edwards put the vital characters in his movie. Though the circumstances are not in his favor, he used two standing actors to act as Leia (Ingvild Deila) and Tarkin (Guy Henry), while the facial features will be done by CGI to make the characters they portray appear in the big screen.

Furthermore, there's a video from ABC News on how the studio managed to pull off one of the most daring scene in film history. "Making digital humans is one of the hardest things you can do, we were very, very immediately excited and immediately terrified." says Paul Giacoppo of Industrial Light and Magic, the special effects company made by the saga creator George Lucas. Even though the scene where the two characters were a spot-on CGI, the scene not only a great fan service, but also serves as the definite chain between 'Rogue One' and 'A New Hope'
