The movie 'Baywatch' is based on a fifteen years back TV series of the same name 'Baywatch' itself. The series was based on the beach side story of a youthful team of lifeguards. The 'Baywatch' series has a total of 11 seasons starting from 1989 till 2001.
2017 movie 'Baywatch' also has the same storyline as that of the TV series. As per the information from Comicbook, Matt Brody joins the lifeguard team lead by Mitch Buchannon and together they save the Bay from the local criminals, who plots against the Bay.
