Eating too much amount of unprocessed meat was been linked in getting a high risk of an inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis. Inflammatory bowel disease is an immune-mediated chronic intestinal condition, while diverticulitis produces small bugles or a pocket in the lining of the intestine which it may cause lower abdominal pain.  

According to independent, researchers analyzed the information data about the diets of more than 46,000 men in U.S which 764 was developed the condition called diverticulitis over 26 years. Those who consumed a high amount of red meat have the 58 percent of getting the disease unlike those who take less amount. 

Those who ate a higher amount of red meat favor to use common anti-inflammatory drugs and painkillers more often they smoked more and they less likely to exercise unlike to those who ate more poultry and fish takes aspirin and to smoke less and more likely to exercise.  

According to Medical Express, new cases of the said condition have grown especially for younger people around. 4 percent of those affected might develop severe or long-term complications, such as perforations in the gut wall, fistula, and abscesses.

Nevertheless, Harvard Medical School scientists and other leading academic institutions in Boston said that it was still unclear how red meat might affect the disease. The best way to lessen the admission in the hospital, especially for people who aged between 50 and 70, is to eat food which has a high fiber and do more exercises.
