An alleged collaboration between LG and Google is said to produce the first commercially available wearable devices that will feature Google's Android Wear 2.0. According to recent reports, LG will be developing the smartwatches while Google will be providing the operating system for the new smartwatches.

According to a recent news report from venturebeat, LG has developed two new smartwatches, the LG Watch Style and LG Watch Sport. The report also discussed that both of the new LG smartwatches will be powered by Google's Android Wear 2.0.

Android Wear 2.0 was first featured in the Google I/O event way back May of 2016. Though only the Android Wear 2.0 preview was available at that time, several marked improvements were already seen by pundits from the tech and gadget community.

The new Google Android powered smartwatches was first reported by androidpolice way back July 2016.  The rumored Android 2.0 smartwatches then reported by androidpolice closely resembles the confirmed smartwatches that are the product of the collaboration between LG and Google.

Of the two confirmed devices, the LG Watch Sport is said to pack the better features. Though both LG smartwatches will have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Connectivity, only the LG Watch Sport will have cellular connectivity. The LG Watch Sport will have support for both 3G and LTE data in addition to GPS and NFC radio.

The LG Watch Sport features a dust and water resistance rating of IP68 while the LG Watch Style will have IP67. The one feature that the LG Watch Style have that the LG Watch Sport does not is swappable wristbands. Also, according to reports, the newly developed Google Assistant will be integrated into the new smartwatches.

Both smartwatches will also have IOS compatibility. One more similarity between the Apple wearables and the new LG Android smartwatches is the digital crown button. The digital crown button is said to help users to have easier navigation. Both LG Smartwatches are set to be launched on Feb. 9.
