Compared to HTC 10, the recently-proclaimed U Ultra hasn't met the same success. The said phone has unfavorable features such as a missing headphone jack, limited availability, tiny battery, and an expensive price. With HTC One A9 receiving an Android 7.0 Nougat update, will HTC have its chance to stand again?

According to Gadgets 360, the update Android Nougat is starting to gain the OS share in the smartphone market slowly, but it is expected to have its momentum after HTC One A9 has received the anticipated Nougat update. Moreover, there are speculations that after putting the update on hold due to bug issues, it will now push through with HTC 10 in around three weeks. On a Twitter post, HTC's Vice President of Product Management Mo Versi announced that the unlocked HTC One A9 device have "received technical approval on the Nougat OS update" from Monday.

Going back to One A9's launch, the mobile brand is remembered to made a claim stating that every update for Android will be passed on to the devices within 15 days after Nexus devices have received it. However, despite Nexus bearing the Nougat update sometime in August, HTC wasn't able to come true to its words.

Meanwhile, Android Police shared what the Android Nougat will look like. It is said that it will bring interesting features like revised quick settings, multi-window, enhanced notifications area, and more. HTC One A9 owners are advised to start checking update starting today.

Android 7.0 Nougat update will also feature an improved battery life. This means that Doze will work not only during stationary period but also while the device is in motion. It has also enhanced its Java 8 support which means that developers can create Java 8 language features in their apps. With such amazing deals to offer, it is no wonder why Android users are anticipating to have this update. (via ITPro)
