iOS 10 has just been unveiled last June 2016 and it has been released for public use after three months. Therefore, in September 2016, iOS device users have freely enjoyed the improvements on their iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. But apparently, Apple has already started working on its forthcoming update, the iOS 11.

With several speculations roaming the online world, Apple has confirmed only a few details about the upcoming mobile operating system. iOS 11 is expected to come out this mid-2017, but as the days passed by, so as the increase of rumors and speculations around.

According to TechRadar, the upcoming update will likely be announced during an Apple event at WWDC in June 2017. However, it seems like it will be too soon and iOS 11 will mostly be unfinished by then. Therefore, it can be mostly expected after iPhone 8's release in 2017. But then again, there are no confirmations about this from the Apple side however, there are no reasons to consider when it comes to Apple changing its schedule.

Meanwhile, ValueWalk reported several features that the iOS 11 update is expected to have. One of which is the "Dark Mode" which will make it easier for users to look at the iOS device, such as iPhone and iPad, in the dark. This means having the more appropriate dimmed screen instead of sliding the brightness down to help with darkness.

It is also assumed to support virtual reality or VR which is already supported by Android devices. If this happens, it seems like iPhone 8 will be the first iOS device to experience this as for sure, it will need to have the additional hardware. However, since CEO Tim Cook seems to be more interested in augmented reality, the update can skip over the VR possibility. The forthcoming update may also bring huge improvements with its already existing features such as Siri and fix underlying issues such as bugs that slow down the performance of the devices.
