An 8-year-old Concord boy sustained burn injuries on 20 to 30 percent of his body while trying to imitate a "hand sanitizer" stunt he had watched on a YouTube video but it went wrong. His mother Tashia Ditucci woke up early morning from "blood-curdling" screams of her son.

James Ditucci came down with red signs of burns on his hands, chest, stomach and thighs. The little boy was in a sleep over with his brother 10 and a cousin.  The incident happened as James tried a stunt he saw on a YouTube video where someone applied a hand sanitizer on his hands and lit them on fire.

But the fire could not be controlled and it spread on the boy's shirt and burnt his chest, stomach and thighs. James' brother put out the fire which may have spread fast because of the hand sanitizer that spilled on his shirt, according to Daily Mail.

The boy was rushed to the hospital from where he was transferred to Shriners Burns Hospital for children in Boston for specialist treatment. The doctors are hopeful about his recovery but the ill-fated child will be left with life-long scars on his body reminding him of this horrible stunt.

James's mother shares his story online to warn the parents from unexpected terrible incidents taking place with their children. She wants them to be watchful for what their children watch online and try to imitate it, reports WALB.

Assistant Chief Brian Borneman with the Merrimack Fire Department says James burn injury could have been much worse based on what YouTube video spreads.  "Alcohol burns blue, and the purer it is, it would get even clearer or you might not see it at all," Borneman said. It is pretty dangerous!

The mother is hopefully waiting for her son to be well and fine soon and return home. But the horrible incident will leave the family badly affected for a long time.
