A new "House of Cards" Season 5 trailer had just been released Netflix teasing fans on what direction the hit political drama show could go in its fifth season. In addition, the new trailer also revealed the "House of Cards" Season 5 release date, a highly-anticipated event by fans all over the world.

Last Friday, online streaming giant Netflix finally dropped the latest "House of Cards" Season 5 trailer that strongly hints on what could happen next season. The brief 28-second preview finally shows that the Underwoods would push through with their promise last season in bringing terror.

The "House of  Cards" Season 5 trailer shows an inverted American flag hanging upside down in front of the Capitol building. In the background, voices of children can be heard reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Rumor mills are now ablaze with talks that when "House of Cards" Season 5 release date eventually arrives, the Underwoods will be making good of their threat last season, Entertainment Weekly reported. It may be recalled that the fictional president Frank Underwood declared last season to wage an all-out war against terrorism.

However, it is just an attempt to draw attention away from the growing scandal caused by Thomas Yates' expose, Express reported. It is expected that the husband and wife team will be dealing with whatever effects the article might have on their candidacy when the "House of Cards" Season 5 premiere finally arrives.

However, "House of Cards" Season 5 predictions from the same publication say that Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey, might not survive this season. One way that this could happen is that Frank might be assassinated, which will be planned by his wife Claire.

These "House of Cards" Season 5 speculations were apparently based on the original BBC series. However, it is still unknown if the new showrunners will follow the plot of the original.

For fans who have patiently waited until now, a bit of waiting is still up ahead before the "House of Cards" Season 5 release date finally arrives later this year. Departing from previous seasons' February releases, Netflix already announced that the show's fifth season will premiere on May 30, the same day as the Inauguration Day of Donald Trump.
