‘Naruto Shippuden’ Episode 491 Spoilers: Shikamaru Sneaks Into Land Of Silence, Search For Gengo & Sai Continues

The upcoming "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 491 will continue the five-episode Shikamaru arc. Titled "Recklessness," it will highlight Shikamaru's resourcefulness and strategic thinking as he and his team try to locate Sai as well as Gengo, the man controlling the Land of Silence.

In the previous "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 490, it was finally confirmed that Sai was captured. While it was not shown who captured him, it was most likely Gengo's men, who got wind of Sai's infiltration in their lands. The episode also suggests their opponent to possess some form of genjutsu as Sai was seeing a younger version of himself.

The main problem that Shikamaru and his select team will be facing in the coming "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 491 is the dearth of information regarding their target. Gengo appears to be an overly cautious man making it very difficult for them to locate him.

But Shikamaru's team will have an advantage in the coming "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 491 as well. In the previous episode, the team managed to fool Komori, as well as the guards at the checkpoint, that Soku was really keen on deserting Konoha. As proof of Soku's changing allegiance, the captain of the guards at the outpost ordered her to kill her Konoha teammates who arrived at the gates asking for her return. Without hesitation, Soku attacked her Konoha teammates and left them for dead.

However, it was all a ruse, part of Shikamaru's plans to get Soku free passage into the Land of Silence, reports GamenAnime. With Soku in, she was able to sneak her teammates into the land as well. "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 491 would likely see the team's search for Gengo intensify now that they are inside his territory.

But it will be hard task for the team. In the brief "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 491 preview, it appears that Gengo does not show himself to others as well.

Sai may have already obtained some knowledge on their target. But to utilize whatever intel he possess, Shikamaru's team needs to find him first in the coming "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 491.

The upcoming "Naruto Shippuden" is the third episode of the Shikamaru arc which started in episode 489, Christian Times reported. "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 493 will be the arc's finale paving the way for another arc that will focus on Naruto and Hinata's wedding.
