The frequently used plastic water bottles contain hormone-disrupting chemicals that can cause autism, ADHD, diabetes and even cancer. These are endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) that directly interfere with the hormonal system in the body and affect growth while leaving the body vulnerable to a shocking range of illnesses, a study reveals.

Not only plastic bottles but thousands of daily used products contain these chemicals. Starting from cosmetics to detergents and food containers, these products have become an essential part of life. The US is bearing a heavy cost of $340 billion per year in combating these diseases, reported by Daily Mail.

The most commonly known EDC-related disease is neurological along with the loss of IQ and Autism. The Matter is not limited to these illnesses only but the dangerous chemicals can induce the abnormal growth of tissue outside the uterus, male infertility, major cancers, obesity, and diabetes.

Even the sex toys contain fewer chemicals of this type than kids' toys. A study conducted on 112 kids' toys found out that 15% toys contained one or more of these dangerous chemicals. Despite the fact that EDCs are banned from use in manufacturing children's toys yet they are still present in many products.

What is wondering the experts is the fact that only 2 of the 44 most famous sex toys in Sweden tested positive for EDCs. The results were shocking for the experts. The research targets more vigorous health regulation of kids' products, according to This is Money.

Maybe the reason for the production of sex toys out of safer material is that they are produced by larger companies that can use pressure on the production agencies to use a high-end safe material. Contrary to this children's toys are made by smaller insignificant companies that haven't got the power to demand high-end quality, says Bjorn Malmstrom, a spokesman for the chemical agency.

However, more attention is needed to children's toys and imposing more strict laws for the use of a safer material in their production. The EDCs can cost the USA in the form of cash loss and deteriorating human health.
