"The Originals" Season 4 will grace the small screens in a few weeks time. According to recent reports, there will be a new budding romance in the new season as Freya (Riley Voelkel) finds her own love interest.

Things have been tough for the characters in the last season. One of the anticipated happenings in the "The Originals" Season 4 is the appearance of Hope's grown up character, who is rumored to be Klaus' savior. Many are settled with the idea and did not expect more. Thus, it is a surprise to many that Freya will have her own love story amidst the chaos in the current story line.

"The Originals" Season 4 EP Michael Narducci told TV Line that Freya will be going through an emotional struggle. This will open a new dimension to the character which will probably set her in meeting her knight in shining armor. It remains unknown who Freya's love interest will be. According to reports, the character is too occupied with her troubled family. Perhaps, it is time for her to take a break and find new love other than her family.

"The Originals" Season 4 will also feature Rebekah's (Claire Holt) return in half of the season. Narducci teases that the character is set to go on an incredible journey, which is something to watch out for.

Meanwhile, while everyone is very excited for the anticipated epic fourth season, fans are still wondering if the show will go beyond "The Originals" Season 4. Earlier this month the CW announced the shows that were renewed for another season. Among those renewed are "Supernatural," "Arrow," "The Flash," "Supergirl," "Legends of Tomorrow," "Jane the Virgin" and "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend." The "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff was not on the list.

The CW President Mark Pedowitz is not closing doors, though. He explained that the TV series has not premiered yet and its renewal will probably be discussed in May. "I'm a big Julie Plec fan. I'm hoping The Originals will continue. A lot of it will depend on performance," Pedowitz told Entertainment Weekly. "The Originals" Season 4 will premiere on March 17 at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
