On Friday, the Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg expressed concern over the executive orders by President Donald Trump on immigration and refugees. "Like many of you, I'm concerned about the impact of the recent executive orders signed by President Trump," he wrote in his FB post. He also cited that he and his wife - Priscilla Chan - come from a family of immigrants.

As he promised in his presidential campaign, Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday that calls for "extreme vetting" of refugees. According to the Huffington Post, President Trump's immigration executive order is a blueprint for mass deportation. The executive order says that people who have been convicted or charged with any criminal offense (this includes anything from getting a parking ticket to murdering someone) may face deportation. It also said that those who have broken laws (even if the incident didn't result in a conviction or a charge) can face deportation.

People with final administrative deportation orders will also have to leave the US, irrespective of when they received the order. The Donald Trump's Deportation Force may prioritize anyone else as it deems fit. The order also bans people from seven "terror-prone" countries to enter the U.S. for the next 90 days. This order could bar 500,000 legal U.S. residents (aliens with green cards or current long-term visas) from returning to the country after a trip abroad.

While Donald Trump said that he prioritized the deportation of criminals, it is his definition of "criminal" that is causing anxiety in the immigrants living in the U.S. According to the CNN, Mark Zuckerberg wrote that the U.S. should keep its doors open to refugees and all those who need help.

Zuckerberg also wrote that expanding the focus of law enforcement "beyond people who are real threats" will actually make Americans less safe. It will divert our resources and trigger a mass phobia as millions of undocumented folks will live in the fear of deportation.
