Unlocking the device, logging on to Starbucks app and ordering coffee is time taking. Keeping this in mind, the company has brought about something special for all its coffee lovers. The company has recently rolled out what it has named as the on-command ordering. This is a feature that allows users with iPhone or Amazon Echo to place an order using the voice or chatbot.

"The Starbucks experience is built on the personal connection between our barista and customers, so everything we do in our digital ecosystem must reflect that sensibility", Gerri Martin-Flickinger, Starbucks chief tech officer said, as quoted by Digital Trends. He further added that the company is trying to ensure that the app remains personal. The Starbucks official confirmed that the company had to try hard to find a suitable Amazon partner to utilize the feature.

Alexa integration was also simple. Once the user enables the app through the dashboard and links the Starbucks account, they just need to say, "Alexa, order my Starbucks" and a list of favorites from the last ten stores the user had ordered from gets queued. As reports suggested, along with ordering coffee, users can also use voice command to check the Starbucks card balance. For that, they need to mention the name Alexa, to check their balance.

As per CNN, the iOS app features an AI assistant known as 'My Starbucks barista.' The digital chatbots have become a craze like the chat app. It uses artificial intelligence to process natural language for easy ordering. It provides smartphone users with an updated menu, order as well as price lists. Users can also ask which beverages are presently in demand along with which food items are available in store. All the customers need to do is to provide payment details and place the order.

The coffee giant has also mentioned that the app would be available for over 1000 iOS users across the globe for a limited beta test period. A proper rollout of the app would take place sometime in the summer along with an Android version.
