Dakota Johnson aka Anastasia Steele has recently said on The Today Show that her latest movie "Fifty Shades Darker" is a surprise tribute to her mom, actress Melanie Griffith. Even though Johnson's mother might not see the movie ever, it doesn't mean that she wasn't an inspiration to her daughter.

Dakota Johnson said that there is a certain part in the movie that pays tribute to her mom, Entertainment Tonight reported. However, she doubts whether her mom would ever watch "Fifty Shades of Grey." There is a moment, a little surprise moment especially for my mom in this movie. She won't ever see it!" the actress said. But the 27-year-old is hopeful that her mom might watch a clip or so from the movie.

According to The Mirror, Johnson was upset with her mother in 2015 when she revealed she didn't watch "Fifty Shades of Grey". When asked why she didn't watch, Griffith said she didn't need to watch the film to see how good an actress her daughter is. Dakota later snapped at her mom saying she didn't need to watch it. The movie is set to release on Valentine's Day, 2017and is the second installment from the erotic series by E.L. James.

When asked whether her fans and audience would notice the tribute paid to her mother, the "Fifty Shades Of Grey" actress said that she is hopeful that her fans would notice the tribute. Now, one of the main reasons for Griffith not watching her daughter's movie is due to the sexual moments between Johnson and actor Jamie Dornan aka Christian Grey.

The actress returns once again to the silver screen as Anastasia Steele as the movie follows their steamy love affair. As per Dakota, the latest release would showcase their character apart from focusing on the love affair.
