Top-of-the-line mobile brands such as Samsung, Apple, and Google, are expected to launch their new flagship phones this year. The mobile companies are distinct and unique when it comes to their features, however, there will be one key characteristic that three of them will share. A recent report suggested that the brands will release a smartphone that will all have a similar component - an OLED display.

After its fiasco in 2016 that made the company recall all of its Galaxy Note 7, Samsung is expected to release its 2017 flagship phone in the hope of acquiring the trust of its patrons again. Meanwhile, iPhone 8 is speculated to be launched on Apple's 10th anniversary in September, while Google's first high-end mobile device will arrive in October.

Raymond Soneira of DisplayMate recently released a report about the advantages of an OLED display, giving highlights on Samsung, Apple, and Google mobile devices. These three are expected to sport OLED screens. Samsung has already started using this feature and is assumed to use it again for the three phones that the Korean brand will release this year and this only shows how its close competitors will still struggle in incorporating the said feature.

However, it does not merely mean that the three brands will provide the exact same quality and performance with its OLED display, according to Yahoo! This is because of the hardware consideration, its will also concern its software.

According to Soneira, Galaxy S8 will have an improved feature compared to the Note 7 -- this means supporting a flexible OLED display and DCI-P3. iPhone 8, on the other hand, is speculated to have a curved OLED design while keeping its Retina display in the same place. Meanwhile, Google Pixel 2 is expected to have the same flat OLED screen, while improving its color gamut and featuring a DCI-P3.

However, one thing is not yet certain -- will these phones outstand the brightness offered by Galaxy Note 7? If yes, that means having high Peak brightness which is more than a thousand nits that the latest OLED device can regenerate. What do you think of this speculations?
