Relationship Exposed: Why Your Partner is Prone to CHEATING when Travelling

Many women and men wonder nowadays upon the reason that why is their partners prone to cheating when traveling abroad or to local places. Fortunately, a study had shed light upon the reason why is that event made possible by a certain number of couples.

According to Joe, the study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology revealed that traveling is found to lower moral flexibility aspects of a person. The Columbian researchers then asked 215 students to travel abroad and take anagram tasks. They were then assessed with the same process that was repeated six months after to know if they are capable of cheating.

With that said, the study entitled “The Dark Side of Going Abroad” then resulted in findings of 30.1% of participants to already cheat on the first exam. 46.1 percent cheated on the second and 47.7 percent cheated at the last test. Wherein, the study did indeed prove that gaining more experiences in other places lowers moral aspects of a person. Thus leading people to become prone to cheating to their partners as well.

This study was just one of the eight conducted experiments by the team per Medical Daily. The second study was to let three separated groups of 171 students to write down their experience on visiting abroad and the supermarket. Yet again, those with visiting abroad were drawn to be more likely to commit cheating. It was also noted that another experiment concluded that people tend to cheat when traveling abroad if they know they could get away with it as stated.

The study then noted that "The effect of broad foreign experiences on immoral behavior was robust across eight studies that used different research methodologies, cultural samples, life stages, and seven widely accepted measures of immorality." Nonetheless, faith is still rested people’s decision to trust their partner if they would cheat or not.

Some could imply the theory conclusion to decrease chances of foreign travel, the disclaimer is to not take it to that point. It is also advised to not to take the other side of the study regarding cheating too seriously since is noted that partners are “more likely” to cheat. It is still up to people whether they would believe the study or not.
